Beitou 北投區 is one of Taipei's northern districts, bordering on Shilin in the south and Tamsui in the north. It's a district famous for hot springs and bathing culture, which was cultivated during the Japanese era in Taiwan (between 1895 and 1945). Beitou is always great for a stroll and even, if you're not into sulfuric baths, there's a lot of history and nature to explore in the area. Here are the must see sights and parts of Beitou (my personal recommendations): Beitou Park, Beitou Library, Hot Spring museum, Hell Valley and Puji Temple.
