National Theater, Taiwan

The National Theater 國家戲劇院 is neo-classical Chinese building located in the heart of Taipei City. It's one of the landmarks on Liberty Square together with its sibling the National Concert Hall, Gate of Integrity and the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall. The building incorporates architectural elements from the Ming and Qing dynasties. Although the concert hall looks like one of the old Chinese palaces in Beijing, it's a fairly young building: It was completed in 1987. The architect was Yang Cho-Cheng 楊卓成, who designed many other famous landmarks all across Taiwan (source).

How to go there?

To see the National Theater, you have to go to Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall MRT Station and go out at Exit 5, the whole Liberty Square is reserved for pedestrians. You can spend an hour to walk around there, but if you're in a rush, 15-30mins should suffice. If you want to get some good pictures, walk on top of the National Theater and the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and you can make some great panoramic photos.
